To be fair, ethical and inclusive
To collaborate, communicate and be accountable
To value and promote volunteering
Ownership
The open art exhibition is owned and run by volunteer artists
Status
It is a not-for-profit, self-funded organization run by volunteers. Presently the volunteers are assisted by the local Arts Development Manager at Swavesey Village College. We are actively seeking business sponsorship to support the exhibition. We work with a charity partner and are hoping to gain a media partner
Purpose
The purpose of the exhibition is to promote art appreciation and encourage creativity for all involved, including the students at Swavesey Village College and to benefit established and emerging artists living in Cambridge and elsewhere, giving them the opportunity to promote and showcase their work. This work can be traditional or innovative
Differentiators
The exhibition is not-for-profit and is artist led. It is to benefit artists and to raise the profile of the visual arts in and around Cambridge and for this reason no commission on sales is taken from artists.
The exhibition is open and non selective.
Marketing
USP: The exhibition is the only large one in East Anglia not to charge commission on work sold. By showcasing the work in first class surroundings this provides artists with the best opportunity to reach a discerning audience.
Artist Entry Fee
We charge an entry fee that covers marketing costs, screen hire, transportation, venue hire, artwork check in, hanging, artwork labeling, artists preview reception, stewarding, artwork check out, administration and public liability.
Venue
For 22 years the exhibition was held at Cottenham Village College. This year is the seventh year that it will be held at Swavesey Village College.
